Celebrities Who Have Lost Their Homes in the Los Angeles Fires

Stars including Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Tina Knowles, and Jeff Bridges have confirmed the loss of their homes amid thousands in the Southern California area.

Among the thousands who have lost their homes during the Los Angeles wildfires are dozens of familiar faces, from actors like Jeff Bridges and Milo Ventimiglia to musicians including Jhené Aiko and Diane Warren. Some, like Paris Hilton, discovered the loss of their homes via news coverage. Others have documented their evacuation experiences, urging others to flee endangered neighborhoods such as the Pacific Palisades and provide assistance.

Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, who earned a SAG Award nomination as fires ravaged her Los Angeles neighborhood, donated $1 million to aiding victims of the wildfires, writing on Instagram that she is “in communication with Governor [Gavin] Newsom and Mayor [Karen] Bass and Senator [Adam] Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact.” If you’re looking to help those impacted by the fires or find refuge yourself, here is a list of organizations and resources. Jhené Aiko

The Grammy-nominated R&B artist shared on Instagram that she and her children’s Los Angeles home “burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy.” She added, “Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

Jeff Bridges

A rep for the Oscar-winning actor confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a house Bridges inherited from his late parents—fellow actors Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges—has burned in the wildfires.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester

Days after Brody and Meester walked the Golden Globes red carpet together, the Pacific Palisades home they shared with their two children was destroyed, as confirmed in photos obtained by People. Reps for the actors, who have been married since 2014, have yet to respond to the outlet’s request for comment.

Billy Crystal

Crystal confirmed to People that the longtime Pacific Palisades home he shared with his wife Janice had fallen victim to the fires. “Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away,” he said in a statement. “We are heartbroken, of course, but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”

Cary Elwes

The Princess Bride star confirmed his family’s safety on Instagram before sharing, “Sadly we did lose our home, but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire.” He continued, “Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event, and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the firefighters, first responders, and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”

Anna Faris

“Anna and her family are safe and grateful,” a rep for Faris shared in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, confirming that the Pacific Palisades property she purchased in 2019 after her divorce from Chris Pratt had been lost in the fires.

Mel Gibson

In a Thursday NewsNation interview, Gibson revealed that his Malibu home burnt to the ground while he filmed Joe Rogan’s podcast in Austin, Texas. “I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire, so I thought, ‘I wonder if my place is still there.’ But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there,” the actor and filmmaker recalled. “I went home and I said to myself, ‘Well, at least I haven’t got any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore.’”

John Goodman

Although the Emmy-winning actor’s primary residence is in New Orleans, his Pacific Palisades home was burned to the ground, according to images obtained by People, who have contacted Goodman’s reps for confirmation.

Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung

“It was all a dream. Thankfully the family is safe,” Greenberg shared alongside footage of the destruction of the home he shares with Chung via Instagram Stories on Thursday. “Thank you to all of the firefighters risking their lives. Stay safe out there.” Chung wrote on her story, “It’s hard to watch my neighbors who have worked tirelessly to own their homes (some of whom are now retired) with so many loving memories in their homes lose everything in just 24 hours.”

Jennifer Grey

Stella Gregg, the daughter of Dirty Dancing’s Jennifer Grey, shared on Instagram Stories that her mother’s house had burned in the fire, as reported by Architectural Digest. “Luckily, she and [her dog] Winnie are safe,” wrote Gregg, whose father is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg. “Give your loved ones an extra squeeze today.” In a separate post, she wrote, “Home isn’t walls and frames. Home is family,” urging her followers to “hug your loved ones.”

Paris Hilton

On Wednesday, Hilton shared that she was “heartbroken beyond words,” to learn that her Malibu home was no longer standing. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” she wrote on Instagram. “This home was where we built so many precious memories.” In a follow-up post detailing some of the damage, Hilton said, “What breaks my heart even more is knowing that this isn’t just my story. So many people have lost everything. It’s not just walls and roofs—it’s the memories that made those houses homes. It’s the photos, the keepsakes, the irreplaceable pieces of our lives.”

Anthony Hopkins

According to People, who reached out to Hopkins’s rep for confirmation, the two-time Oscar winner lost his Pacific Palisades home, as seen in photos obtained by the outlet.

Joshua Jackson

“First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok. My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely,” the Dawson’s Creek and Doctor Odyssey star said in a statement to Deadline on Sunday, January 12. “Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”

Bozoma Saint John

The former chief marketing officer of Netflix and newest addition to Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills revealed the loss of her Malibu home on Instagram, writing, “This is the house I wanted. The house I prayed for. The house I worked in blood, sweat and tears for…. This is the house where I finally felt like I could choose to spend time…when I wanted to and how I wanted to. It is gone.”

Taran Killam and Cobie Smulders

The SNL alum and How I Met Your Mother star, who wed in 2012, reportedly lost the Pacific Palisades dwelling they share with their two daughters, per photos obtained by People, which has reached out to the couple’s respective reps for official confirmation.

Beyonce’s mother has lost her beachside bungalow in Malibu to the California fires. Knowles posted a video on Instagram sharing the news, featuring a school of dolphins swimming in the ocean. “This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu!” Knowles captioned her Instagram post. “It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!” Her youngest daughter, Solange Knowles, posted a crying emoji in the comments on the post.

The actress and daytime talk show host lost her “dream home” in the Malibu fire. Lake documented it on Instagram, posting videos of her and her husband, Ross Burningham, attempting to save their home. “1/7/25 The day we lost our home. 😭💔 timeline of our efforts to save our beloved home in Malibu,” she wrote on Instagram. Lake included a timeline of events, sharing that she and Burningham ultimately decided to abandon their home at 8:02 p.m. on January 7. “This loss is immeasurable. It’s the spot where we got married 3 years ago,” Lake shared in a separate post. “I grieve along with all of those suffering during this apocalyptic event.”

Sandra Lee

The Emmy-winning television chef and former unofficial first lady of New York City has lost her home in the Palisades fire. “My house is gone-I cried all night and thought about every room, nook, and cranny,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was perfection and now it’s just Ash.” Lee also shared some harrowing videos of the fire on Instagram as she evacuated.

Eugene Levy

The Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek star also lost his home in the Palisades fire. Since 2021, the Canadian actor has served as the honorary mayor of the Pacific Palisades, a figurehead position for the community held by previous residents including Billy Crystal and Martin Short. His son, actor Dan Levy, shared the news on an Instagram story: “Heartbroken for my family, my friends, and the people of LA affected by the catastrophic fires.”

Cameron Mathison

Soap opera star Cameron Mathison took to Instagram to document the loss of his Altadena home in an Instagram video. “We are safe but this is what’s left of our beautiful home,” he wrote on social media. “Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday.” The Daytime Emmy–nominated Canadian actor currently stars on General Hospital. “I’ve lost my home and everything that I own,” he said on Good Morning America. “I have this hoodie and a pair of pants and two pairs of sneakers left. That’s it.”

Rosie O’Donnell

The comedian, actress, and former The View cohost lost her Malibu beachfront property in California wildfires. O’Donnell, who’s set to return to television this year with a role on And Just Like That, shared the news that her home was gone on TikTok. “On pch in malibu - the whole of beach front homes gone - including the one i lived in #thankyoufirefighters,” she wrote.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

One of the first celebrity couples to share that they had lost their home in the fire, The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag watched their Pacific Palisades home burn down via security camera footage. “When your house burns down and you have nothing, your parents’ house burns down, and they have nothing,” Pratt began in a TikTok video. “Obviously I’m in shock. My brain’s not functioning, I think this is the most unhinged post you’ve seen.” Pratt has posted several videos on his personal TikTok rummaging through the remains of their home, managing to find a water fountain, their sons’ play set, and some crystals from his signature collection.

Melissa Rivers

Television host and daughter of late great comedian Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers’s home was destroyed by the Palisades fire. She managed to save her mother’s 1990 Emmy for outstanding talk show host for The Joan Rivers Show from the fire. “To be 100% honest, I grabbed my mom’s Emmy, a photo of my dad and a drawing that my mother had done of me and my son,” she said on CNN. “I went for a drawing of my mother’s rather than a photo because I know I can find the photos. [The drawing] I can’t replace.”

Candy Spelling

Candy Spelling, widow to multimillionaire television producer Aaron Spelling and mother to actress Tori Spelling, lost the Malibu home she owned with her late husband for over 50 years. The $23 million dollar Malibu property was separate from the infamous Spelling mansion, located in Holmby Hills. “I’m in shock and processing this massive loss for our family,” Spelling told TMZ on Thursday, January 9. “I am beyond grateful for the memories. It was truly a wonderful gift to have.”

Miles Teller

Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller lost his Pacific Palisades home in the fire. His wife, Keleigh Teller, shared the news in an Instagram post which captured the last photo she took of their home before it burned to the ground. “To everyone reaching out I can’t thank you enough, your kind hearts have meant the world, I’ll never forget them,” she wrote. “Community has come out stronger than I could imagine, pacific palisades I love you beyond measure you are a little slice of heaven, we will come back stronger than ever.”

Milo Ventimiglia

The actor and his pregnant wife Jarah Mariano saw their home destroyed in the Palisades fire. Ventimiglia acknowledged the sad parallel between the tragedy and a plotline on his TV series This Is Us in which his character, Jack Pearson, dies of smoke inhalation after his home burns down. “You know, it’s not lost on me, life imitating art,” he said. Ventimiglia’s This Is Us costar Mandy Moore also saw her Altadena home severely damaged, but not entirely destroyed, from the Eaton fire.

Diane Warren

Diane Warren, famed songwriter and honorary Oscar recipient, lost the beach house she’s owned for over 30 years in the Malibu fire. “This is the last pic I took of Leah’s rock from my beach house. I’ve had this house for almost 30 years. It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite,” wrote the 15-time Oscar nominee in an Instagram caption. “There’s a rainbow shining on it which I’m taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy.”

James Woods

The conservative actor lost his Pacific Palisades home in the wildfires and quickly pointed blame at California’s liberal politicians. “The firefighters risking their lives to save our homes deserve the highest praise and gratitude. The politicians who deprived them of the means to do their job, and literally left them using purses to quell the conflagration should be in prison,” he wrote on X. Woods broke down in tears while appearing on CNN talking about the fire, but has remained skeptical of climate change’s role in the devastation in the aftermath. “This fire is not from ‘climate change,’ you ignorant a-shole,” he wrote in a reply on X. “It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass.”
